I know you can buy replacement front brake cylinders on ebay.

However, has anyone tracked down a compatible rebuild kit, instead of buying them new?

You can get the cup as a spare. When Nissan sold repair kits for the brakes, they only included the cup and the dust seal. Hope you seal is good.

The compatible parts list the following # 44112-E5010

Some of the Nissan parts online places list them. I hope they have them. I will try to find the Tokiko part number for the cup.

All the cups for front and rear cylinders are the same. 1"-diameter.

The question I have is: can the cylinders be sleeved...?

I tried to wet-hone a couple of my original Nabco front cylinders, and I still could not get the new cups to seal up against the bore - they just kept losing pressure when the truck would sit for a while.

I would LOVE to find a stainless sleeve that fits, or find someone with better brake cylinder rebuilding skills than I posses - I have about 12 original Nabco cylinders that I think could be rebuilt....

I thought Then and Now would resleeve them. If not the, there was another place. I recall that it was pretty pricey though.

The other place is White Post Restorations.

http://www.whitepost.com/brake.html

They are about 30 min from my office. They don't list the prices, and you have to call for them: (540) 837-1140

Thanks for the replies.

It sounds like it may be best to buy them new from the link on ebay...

I recently had the Brake Master Cylinder rebuilt. Mine was a single reservoir and all replacements I found were duel.

The master cylinder was re-sleeved in stainless steel ($100), new cup etc ($50) - the kit seemed readily available and labour $50. The all up cost was $200.

I enquired about getting the slave cylinders re-sleeved. Basically the cost was the same as the MC. So for the front brakes a total of $800. I picked up a new set on ebay (4WD Products) for $138 delivered. Ordered one day delivered the next.

I ended up going this route as well. Total cost for the slave cylinders and to ship to the US was $164 USD. They arrived very quickly for an international ebay purchase - around 4 days to my door.
