Which Carburetor do I really have?

I've gone through the great parts list for '73 patrols posted on this site. Really nice thanks. But the list shows a single barrel carb with a base and gasket with just two holes, i.e. two bolts to the manifold. However, I'm looking at a photo of mine and it has a 4-bolt connection to the manifold. My engine number is P 106490 (stamped) and 110115800 (cast in block). Is there a source for engine identification? What do you think I have here? Thanks

I'm not an expert on carbs, but it looks like a Holly. Definitely not an original Patrol carb. If it's not allowing the manifold to create enough vacuum, this could be the source of the problem with the brakes. Or, perhaps there is a vacuum leak at the custom built base adapter?

Looking at the pics from your other thread, and the serial number you posted, I'd say you have a Model P engine, and you also have what looks like an aftermarket copy of a Hitachi two-barrel carburetor sitting on a custom adaptor to mate it to the Nissan intake manifold...
The reason I think it's a copy is that the Hitachi logo is missing from the side of the case. Otherwise it looks very similar to the later Hitachi 2-barrels

I agree that it seems to hitachi, or a copy of. Ecuador is a place where they make do with what they have, sometimes stretching the fabric a bit too thin. But the existing carb has the window on the float bowl like the original single barrel carbs shown in the parts lists. But, no manufacturer's marks as far as I can see. Really could run better, but I did not have time to tune it or do anything before i left. I have a brand new, never installed Weber 32/36.

I have to agree with you, it sure looks like the NIKKI. I see also that the link you sent is about mounting it to a corolla, and that these were also used on Datsun pickups.
As these are small engines, 1600-1800 cc is the carb undersized for my Patrol? Wait, I also see one on eBay intended for a "Nissan Patrol GQ Y60 carburettor 4x4 TB42 4.2L carby 88-93 model run tested 4x4" so maybe the fellow who installed the one on my rig was making an upgrade.
