Hi all,
apologies if this has been covered before but I have a question regarding the "travel limiters" in the front suspension of the Patrol...
The limited adjustable range of of these seems to me to be a problem when lifting a 60 Patrol beyond an inch or two ( lack of droop travel in the front suspension )...the obvious temptation is to simply remove them completely - apart from the issues of the front driveshaft contacting the crossmember, binding of the uni-joints and the maximum travel of the driveshaft slip-yoke, what are the pros and cons of doing this please ?
I've seen 60 Patrols on the forum with lots of lift and even spring-over-axle conversions done, but after adjusting the limiters to maximum length I found the front suspension "topping out" after fitting my front springs, and I was wondering how others have got around this please ?
Any info or experience people would like to share would be appreciated, including maximum angle of the unijoints and maximum length of the front driveshaft before things go bad...
Cheers,
D
