Heavy duty extended shackles

Here is one of the heavy duty shackles that i have made for David (L60Boerne). These things are beefy!

How much longer are they than stock? I'd like to see the before and after ride-heights.

They are just over 2" longer than stock. These are very heavy duty, the standard ones are just 1/4×1 1/4 strap. I made these because he is going to use these off road a lot on rough terrain. The standards would probably work just fine, but we decided not to take any chances. I do believe it gives about 1 1/2" lift at the axles.

With the cross piece in the center, will that prevent the springs from inverting? I know that's a problem with too much lift.

It will help, but it wont prevent it. His Alcan springs are +1" nothing excessive. With these shackles it should give him a 2 1/2" lift. I dont believe he will have any issues with that. On the Patrols longer shackle makes it harder for them to inverting,

Thanks Ron, I love this stuff. Plus , I really value my limited time in the field. I really like these shackles, not that the originals were bad. In fact, im sending them back so he will have set in stock for a typical 2" lift for typical duty. I just can't afford any mechanical faults in some of the places I go.
