60Patrol

It's been so far about 5 months since bringing home this desert find home,but its only been 3 weeks since i started to work on it.
The condition that it was when i got it was not the best but for me was great since it was the first time that i ever saw this car. It though it would make a great project.
First things first,get it road worthy.
The first week i did all my research and made a shopping list. New gabriel shock absorbers from amazon came in,(same part number than the guys from au ebay seller but without the big shipping price and loca),energy brand sway bar end link bushings,(also amazon),steering stabilizer (replacement from a 1993 e350 .),oil filter from napa
Power break booster and proportioning valve from gps breaks,54mm 182° new thermostat from stant.(ebay seller,and finally (for now) all four wheels break cylinders from AWD parts from ebay,break shoes are getting relined by a local guy here in the sanfernado valley.
Second week, i disassembled all the suspension components, breaks(removed and replaced cylinders),drained oil ,water pump,radiator among other things and dipped all rusty components into a bath of pure vinegar to get rid of all rust and flushed and washed the guts out of the original radiator.
Now this is my third week in to it and so far ive cleaned and paintedthe water pump and thermostat housing as well as the oil filter canister with gloss black ceramic high temp paint and made a bracket to mount the break power booster. I should be mounting it by this weekend and will continue with the rest of the stuff.
My intentions are to make sure this beast is good and safe for the road before i can move on to all the cosmetics.

You're very resourceful. I don't think I have ever bought Patrol parts from Amazon.

I figured there has to be cross reference parts. So if one cross reference the specs on parts ,wich is what i did, you can find many options

And we continued on the av patrol project.
Last night i got to finish the mounting bracket for the power break booster and atached the pedal rod to it. I had to cut the front original rod and welded it to the one that came with the booster.it worked out great.
Today i decided to take some body parts off the truck such as the windshield frame and doors and wiring harness si i can get to clean up the dirt and rust to start working the body.
I also got to discover some nasty evil stuff that its previous owner did to this poor thing.
I cut off the tail gate doors since its previous owner decided to weld them to the body for some unknown reason. So im going to have to fabricate a pair or find a set from a donor.
Also he butchered the driverside seat mount base to lower the seat but whoever did the work was a complete immature. So i will also have to fabricate a new seat base. Man this project is going to put my skills to the test
So this is my weekly report.

Yeah, that's going to require some creativity to work through. But you seem pretty good at that.

It looks like this Patrol has had a CHP/DMV assign a VIN to it, based on the tag on the driver's door jamb.

It would be cool to find out what the original VIN is. I'm sure it's still on the frame, they just never know where to find it. Could you get a picture of it? It is on the top of the frame, just out from the the exhaust coming off the manifold. You'll probably have to use a wire brush to scrape off dirt and grime.

Actually i checked the day i picked it up and the vin number on the chp plate does match the one on the chasis .
Thats how i found about g60patrol.com because i Googled how to find the vin on the patrol and i guess some one had made or mentioned on a thread and i found it on the spot.i use some good Ol' saliva and bingo,there it was
