Re: Back from the dead 64 Patrol
Welcome to 60Patrol! I think many of us bought ours the same way. I'd heard of the Patrol, even seen a picture or two, but never saw one in person until we stumbled on one for sale... and bought it.
Enjoy!

Enjoy!

Re: Back from the dead 64 Patrol
This was the reverse idler gear I didn't end up finding one and had to repair it some careful tig weld layering and filing a new tooth profile I got it pretty close, hopefully pretty close will do for now...

Re: Back from the dead 64 Patrol
Welcome to 60Patrol!
Congratulations on your new Patrol!
Wow, I don't think I can ever recall seeing any transmission gear in Patrol that grenaded. Those trannys are pretty bullet proof. Someone had to try pretty hard to do that. Is that a PTO winch on it? I wonder if that might have had something to do with it?
Welding the teeth on the gear can work well, good thinking. Hopefully you'll have that beast up and running soon. Don't hesitate to ask here for help, we'll be happy to oblige.

Re: Back from the dead 64 Patrol
I am still actively looking for a new or good condition reverse idler gear any leads would be greatly appreciated as there is no stock anywhere and no wreckers around

Re: Back from the dead 64 Patrol
It might be easier for you to find a complete transmission.

That would be great hoping to have drive itself out of my shop tonight but would be no issue to swap that gear out if you find one, where are you located?2869ral wrote:I might be able to help you out with that gear.
