Question for anyone who has media blasted their Patrol

Did you remove the windshield before blasting? If not, how did you protect the glass and rubber seals while blasting? If so, where did you find the new rubber seals for the windshield (exterior and interior)?

Also, did you remove the windows from the driver and passenger doors? (And again, if not, how did you protect the glass?)

Same with rear doors/glass.

Thank you,

-Wade

I recommend you always pull the glass before media blasting. Oftentimes you will find corrosion at the base of the window frame where moisture seeps around the gaskets.

I second that.

Thanks guys. My only concern is the rubber seal for the windshield. I'll need to check the condition of mine, would I be able to reuse it if it's good? Assuming (I'm careful removing it.)

If not, I have seen the exterior seal on eBay, but is there also an interior seal?

Thanks,

-Wade

There is only one seal for the windshield.

Had mine soda blasted and what a mess. Went with soda so I would not warp pannels. The original original paint is particularly hard to remove so he went though 1700 lbs of soda! So I would recommend another media. Just my two cents worth.
