nissan frontier or titan for farm truck?
I had to get rid of the last frontier as it was on its last legs. I have been driving a car but will need to get a truck soon. I need a crew cab as I have to but baby seats in the back. I need the truck for hauling the odd round bale of hay for my wife's horses. Would you frontier be able to handle round bales ok? I don't want to get a fullsize truck unless I need to.

Did you haul it in your last Frontier? I really liked my 06 Frontier, but never had anything that big to haul. How much does a round bale of hay weigh? How would a small utility trailer work for the hay?

I'd be thinking that it would weigh in around the 1200 lb mark at tops. I could get a utility trailer I suppose. Or perhaps put bigger springs in the back. I'll have to do a bit more research

im going to get lambasted on here , but i ended up getting a 2009 toyota tacoma trd 4x4 6 speed manual. the main reason being that the rear facing baby seat for my son wouldnt fit well in the frontier. the tacoma has a ton more leg room. also i couldnt find any frontiers with manual transmissions in the double cab. the trucks in great shape and has 170 000 km on it which isnt too bad.

I'd been doing Frontier research as well -- Our 2000 frontier is "tired" and will soon be driven by a 16 year old boy. It's doomed!
You can get the Frontier Crew Cab with a manual transmission BUT only in the short bed. Nissan doesn't offer the double cab long bed 4x4 it in a manual. Very sad discovery. Shortbed... yes. Long bed... nope. Anyway, we picked up a new 2016 Frontier crew cab to kick off the new year (with an automatic).
Funny story -- I mentioned to the salesman that have a '67 Nissan Patrol... He was confused and said that he never heard of it. Jay pointed to the poster across the room showing the Patrol (River -- isn't this your Patrol?). His reaction? "Oh! Cool!" Happy New Year!

Beyond any hope for intervention

That's funny when I was at the dealership I mentioned I had a patrol and the guy rushed me over to the parts counter to tell the parts guy. The parts guy is a vintage nissan enthusiast and vehicle owner and was very interested. He told me he has all the parts break downs for the patrol and is pretty sure he can get most of the parts from his vintage contacts in Japan. He runs the province wide z series clubs. If he come up with anything I will get everyone his contact info ! Hopefully something good comes out of it
