Fuel sending unit options
Gentlemen, my fuel sending unit is not sending any signal to the gauge. Wondering if there is anything out there that i can use as a replacement or if the original one that i have can be repaired. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Fuel sending unit options
Sometimes an NOS one will show up. Try Googling the part number. I think there was one for a Roadster that was compatible. The later ones are slightly different in the way they mount, FYI.

RiverPatrol - Thanks as usual. I did google the original part number (17291-44002) but came back negative. Would you happen to have the part number from the roadster by any chance? Also looks like i can get the newer one that started from Jan 73 (25060-46500) not sure if this would be compatible with the old unit?

No, I don't have the part number. I just did a search on eBay and didn't find anything either, maybe they're all gone too. The later one that you list is not compatible; it mounts with a twist lock, yours mounts with screws. It may be possible to drill holes in the later style one and make it work?

If the only difference is the way it mounts then i might be able to make it work with what i have. No, I don't have the part number. Also found these on-line:

Wondering if one of these would work. I believe 9" length would do. Anyone have any idea on the ohms?

Re: Fuel sending unit options
Member moore_rb has measure the readings for both types of fuel sending units. Please check this thread:
http://www.60patrol.com/forum/viewtopic ... 921#p20921
Quote from that thread:
Ok, here's what the ohm meter came up with for the senders:
The newer style (the top one in the photo farther up the page) reads 100 ohms at "Full" and about 20 ohms at "empty"
The older style sender (bottom) reads 90 ohms at Full, and 10 ohms at Empty.
Unfortunately, the some of the pictures are gone in that thread, due to the new policy of Photobucket.
I have also in my notes that a member from another forum from years ago, used a 0 to 90 ohms sender with good results.

Re: Fuel sending unit options
It would be easy to make an older style sender appear to the gauge as a newer style sender by placing a 10 ohm resistor in series with the circuit.
