I need help with clutch Please

Got a 66 K60. Trans and Xfer was out. Don't know why. Trying to examine release bearing operation. I believe I should be able to engage and disengage clutch without trans in place? The main thing is I don't see how the bearing and the sleeve and the clip play together. What is the clip for? What do the large pins on clutch bar push against exactly when pedal is actuated? It's all flopping around right now. I would pay beer for a picture or three. I have only worked on US trucks with clutch forks. Please explain to me. I have several very good manuals and they DO NOT show assembled parts, just exploded views, and say "install.."

Thanks for any and all help/suggestions

Understand your frustration. After your comments I check the service manual and in fact doesn't have any instruction regarding how to install the bearing sleeve and the retainer clip, and pictures are not available due to its position once installed.

First, the clutch can't be operated without the transmission in place, since the bearing sleeve slides over the flute of the transmission that covers the drive with the splines for clutch disk. Sorry!

The clip on the bearing sleeves helps to keep the bearing assembly at the yoke, both during assembly and also during operation so the bearing retracts with the yoke once you release the pedal.

Thank you sir. that helps. Wish I had a pic of how the wire encapsulates the yoke. My clips may be bent out of shape. I do believe I can get the clutch to operate by holding the bearing/sleeve in the approximate middle with a suitable round "tool". Not as centered as if on the tranny input shaft, but good enough to test.

Other issue: This info for newbys like me, most other members know this already.
I have determined that my pedal travels a huge amount before the yoke rotates. There are 8 pivot points. Some linkages have wallowed out holes in there corresponding levers. Some link rods are worn. The "adjustment" rod nut is all the way down. This indicates others have tried to take out the slop. As further wear happens, there is no push left. No adjustment left. If each of the pivot points are worn by 1/8, that is 1" of lost push. With so many bell crank pivots, this is multiplied, and movement of yoke is almost nothing. I will have to weld up holes and re-drill as well as inspect other parts which have contributed to final loss of actuation. I have read several post regarding "adjustment all spent". I believe it is due to this reason. Together with the fact there is supposed to be some free play of pedal. I encourage all to keep this worn pivots/slop syndrome in mind when troubleshooting sloppy clutch. Fab new parts or fix all pivots to new condition. Inspect the "axle" that each bell crank rotates on and etc.

Glad you've been able to figure out about the wear of the different parts.

Many years ago I had to do what you suggest on the clutch linkage: welded the holes and drilled new ones, and also welded the wear of the rods. A little patience with a file and you can return to the original shape. And after that, plenty of grease and often.

Please take some photos when you do it, as many members will appreciate having them as a guide.

I am actually very impressed with the Quality of this little guy. Lots of copied part designs and a few Nippon good ideas.
