1969 L60 in USA

Recently tracked down and purchased a '69 L60 here in the United States and am working on prepping it for the humid Florida climate. From what I can tell it has spent the majority of its life in Northern California, New Mexico, and Texas so rust is minimal and all surface. Prepping it to be a weekend warrior/project vehicle.
Have been perusing this site for information and figured I needed to join and say hello. Fuel pump started leaking the other day and thanks to you guys, have a replacement in the mail now!
Attaching a few photos, don't have many at the moment, but can always get more. May notice that the heater core has been bypassed, started leaking almost immediately upon arrival. Figured this would be a quick/easy/dirty way to stop the leaking of coolant on the passenger side. Definitely open to any repair/replacement suggestions. From what limited info I can find, seems like the dash may need to come out and is a bit of a pain to do. We have a short, mild winter here so its not a priority.
There are a lot of things I don't claim to be and a competent mechanic is one of them! Super excited to find a community that is so supportive about these awesome vehicles. Patrols are a rarity in the States and there is not a lot of information readily available!
Cheers,
Preben

Welcome to 60Patrol! :text-welcomeconfetti: You've come to the right place for you Patrol related questions.

That looks like a nice Patrol. I recall seeing it for sale a while ago, nice that you ended up with it. The heater core isn't too hard to remove, the hard part is finding a shop that will fix it or a replacement. Not impossible though.

I recently had my heater core gone through. it had several pin holes. if you find a good radiator shop, you'll be in business. That's basically what it is, a mini radiator.

Thanks fellas, as I recall my buddies old k-5 blazer did the same thing. Glad to hear its not as big a deal as previously thought. Was joking with him that its a bigger issue to run it as a second radiator in the florida heat rather than a heater during our 'winters'
