Can somebody direct me as to the part number of a new bracket to convert my 65 to an alternator? Or a year and model of salvaged vehicle we could get one off of.

David, I have the following link saved from a posting years ago at another site :

https://alternatorparts.com/alternator-brackets.html

There you have Part # A200 Universal Alternator Mounting Bracket. This base will allow you to correctly align the alternator pulley to the water pump and crankshaft pulleys.

Also, the fan belt for the Patrol is 3/4" wide, but it's difficult to find an alternator pulley in that width. After the suggestion of one member (can't recall whom) I tried a 5/8" belt and it works perfectly. It's easier to find a 5/8" alternator pulley for your installation.

Please post some pictures when you do this.
