60Patrol

Cobbling together old rolling stock is just not for Patrols anymore. This bulldozer was assembled from 8 bulldozers. It sports new hydraulics and rebuilt long block among everything else. It is ready for another 50 years of service at The Lair.

I see nothing wrong with Franken-vehicles.

While we are on the subject of heavy equipment I want to add I've had my 50 HP Kubota loader/shredder, which is fairly new, out of The Lair 4 times. I have killed it twice. The first time cost me motor and this time a hydraulic line/filter/assembly whatever . Bottom line, yes I run my stuff as it fits my needs. Yes, I break a lot of parts and a lot of things haven't made the cut...but you know what has never failed?

The 60 series Patrol.

I assure you they get no quarter from me. I run over the same trees, stumps, cactus, mud and rocks that breaks parts of other vehicles....but not the 60 series. If they broke I'd have something else.

I would not have my 60s, if it we not fo the support and help of this forum...thank you again.

That's a pretty cool little dozer David! (I'm not trying to talk down about your dozer by calling it little......it's just that I'm used to the size of the remote controlled Cat D10s we use to push coal.)

What year was it built? EDIT: I see in the title of the thread that it's a '65.

I wanted to go back and double check since you asked. The actual year of manufacture is 1980. Wish I had the patience to drive it over to where I was cutting the road with my Kubota. Both would still be alive. I just love the authentic cool colors on a rough old beast that clanks and rattles into the distance.

I can't recall which I drove first, D6 or FJ40. I do recall I ran the FJ into our hay wagon. I didn't hurt the D6....3rd grade. Never could stay on my horse but I rode that D6 all around the place.

From the very little experience I have of tractors, I take this as a significant statement to the 60 series Patrol. I can understand completely.

After the mudslides of '03 we had to clear the driveway to get to the road. The driveway was a shared driveway with the neighbor. We had a Case 1840 skid steer, which is the only tractor I've ever operated. The neighbor had a Kubota. The Kubota was virtually worthless for clearing the mud. When the neighbor saw how the Case easily dominated the task, he went and got a Bobcat.

Definitley more burly than my Kubota sub-compact, that''s for sure...

Of course, in tractor terms, mine lives a very privileged life.... it mainly moves in hay, moves out horse manure, and relocates the occasional engine or axle from junk pile A to junk pile B...

and it drags the tiller through my garden once a year

Rob, your picture reminds me the one project I finished before the tree relocated my hydraulic filter.

This is an engineered structure but it was available. You never waste anything on the farm.

I picked up the canopy and walked it about a 1/4 mile to our 500 yd range. The shooting bench was lifted into my truck. It worked great until....
