Water temp sender

Does anyone know the correct size screw to hold the wire onto the water temp sender unit? I lost mine into the bowels of the engine bay, and no amount of searching can find it. I know it is a small brass screw, but that's all I could remember as it dropped into the void!!! I even swept the floor, but it remains lost.

What year is yours, since there's two types of the temperature sender. Mine is a 65 I can check tomorrow morning. Hope I don't loose it

Thank you. Mine is a Feb 1978 build. Yeah, don't loose it, they are tiny!!! Had it been metal it would have stuck to the tip of the screwdriver.

RiverPatrol is right. Mine came from a 74 that was still in SAE. After 78 everything turned to metric.

However, an educated guest after checking the one that I have, is that you probably need a M3 with the standard pitch of 0.5mm. From what I see, you have only another choice, and that will be an M3 with a 0.35mm pitch.
M3x0.5
M3x0.35

I will buy the two options, and the lenght should be no more than 10mm. Probably 8mm will be ok.

I think I have a spare one of these at the house. I can check and see when I get back home. I could also check to see what the screw size is.

David, I haven't purchased anything. Was just doing a guess for the scree that member ozscott needs, since his is metric.

Your best bet will be jwgreen. Hope he can check the correct screw for the USA Patrols.
