I realized after making a few posts that I never introduced myself or Patrol. Additionally, I realized that it would be much more efficient to post all my questions into one thread as I restore this beast, rather than making new posts for every little thing (correct me if I'm wrong!).
Quick background - I first saw a Patrol when I was about 12 visiting my great grandmas in Colorado. Ever since then I have been hunting for one that was that right balance of affordable and salvageable. I finally found it in this 1969 US SWB!
So far, as a few know, it's major issue is brakes which I am ordering all new parts for and replacing all the lines soon. The brakes completely failed (luckily after already getting it home from a 140 mile trip!), and so that is priority #1.
It has a few issues otherwise - such as it needs new floor pans, it has a slow leak somewhere around the transmission, a slow leak around the steering....ummm...thingie? (Front passenger side corner), and plenty of rust to clean up. Otherwise it runs great and has been fun to drive!
With all that said, as I wait for brake parts, if anyone can point me to some other posts or manuals that show how to take out the seat box so that I can then take out the floor pans, I would be very grateful. I tried searching the forums but did not see much other than a few pics of the seat box already off. Once removed I will trace the old ones, load into CAD, and plasma cut new ones!
Happy Patroling
