I am officially Patroless

Post by plateaucal »

Here is the last photo of my Patrol The new owner picked it up yesterday for the trip back to Phoenix. Not all bad. I sold it to my nieces husband. He has had his eye on it for some time. I suggested that he check in with 60Patrol but we will see

At least you will be able to keep an eye on it!

Do you have your eyes on another Patrol? :techie-ebay:

It's in my blood now. If something ever pops up around here, I'll be looking.

How sad. :( That doesn't give you an excuse to be a stranger here though.

Don't go scrapping your SAE standard tools just yet. Having a Patrol in the extended family will mean you are always "on call".

Congrats on the sale...

Perhaps we should start a "when will he buy another pool" -- we all suffer the same addiction!

I wish you get another Patrol very soon. Sorry to see it goes, but it looks like the deal was good for both parties, so I'm glad for you.

I hope, as RiverPatrol said, not to be a stranger on this site. Your insight is so valuable! On par with your sense of humor :D

If Patrols were dogs, this one would be wagging his tail. Adam, took the first cruise in it last night with the wife and kids. They toured the neighborhoods looking at Christmas lights and then went to dinner. The kids were stoked!! Adam is a happy camper and plans on driving it... a lot. So all is good in the Patrol world, another orphan Patrol has found a happy home.

I will be sending him a link to this site. As we all know this is the only source for information and help. He will also keep me on speed dial. However, I think he's good for a few months of driving before he gets tired of the occasional drip on his shop floor. He knows gaskets and seals are next. But, he did get a mechanically solid machine.

Yes, I plan on checking in now and then as usual. The 60Patrol venture has been a lot of fun and you have all been very helpful as well, thank you!

Plateaucal,
Good for you. That one needed to stay in the family. When and if you buy another one please don't get a museum piece and keep it in a condition that allows us to Patrol the Rockies with tents and coolers.

One last question...What did you get for the extra set of legs your sold with it? I knew you had lots of spare parts but you never mentioned an extra set of legs.

Theose legs sure were not mine. Rolling around under cars is not really my thing anymore. But, I will say that you, David, had no small part in this sale. After your "Expedition" article made it's rounds around the family I felt like a movie star. The one question Adam asked, "Is this Patrol just like the ones you drove over the Alpine Loop?" I said, "Yes it is, almost exactly, but even better! This is the rarest and best of all Patrols ever made." It seemed that his wallet flew out of his pocket under it's own power.

I sent him along with all the parts that are correct to the 69. I still have some stuff for you and hope to drop it off sometime in the near future.

I seriously doubt that I will ever find another but I will let fate decide that one.

Anyway, happy holidays!

Patrolling Patroless,

Plateaucal.
