Stumped on fuel to bowl

Post by pdub »

Help! Can’t figure this problem out. The fuel filter bowl is not filling when engine is running, At idle it stays at just under half full. You can see the fuel dribbling down the side of the bowl to fill it but it doesn’t fill up. I just replaced the fuel pump thinking that would pull more fuel but no. My only thought is a leak somewhere in the line to the tank sucking air but there is no fuel leak. Anyone ?

I just have a small see through filter before my fuel pump. I don't have a bowl. The fuel pump has been rebuilt.

The small filter NEVER seems to fill up, its often just a third full.

However the Patrol seems to run OK. I have travelled several 1000 KMS at highway speeds.

I'd be interested in the responses to your question, to see if it applies to me.
Not sure if I will get there.

But I usually do!!!

:text-yeahthat: I'm thinking the same. My soft top has the glass full bowl and I don't recall ever seeing it fill up all the way. Runs fine.
Beyond any hope for intervention
