Fix for Loose Door Closure

Post by L60Boerne »

Greetings Patrollees Worldwide,

Eddy the Eagle has figured out how to fix the poorly shutting doors particularly noticeable on the 66 year model. The problem is not the star locking mechanism or alignment. It requires total disassembly and restoring all the parts to original condition.

The driver’s side door on Punkin had a mild case of this, as compared to Phoenix Patrol  , so Eddy fixed it. If you close your eyes and stand back far enough you can’t tell if it is Punkin’s door or my wife’s Porsche door shutting. :liar:

I kid you not….Punkin’s door…now recently renamed to Pinto Patrol….shuts like a Wells Fargo vault!

Phoenix Patrol will get its doors done in the next month. Pesky problem solved.

Rolling and Patrolling,

This is great to know! Would it be possible to provide a bit more detail on what is involved in "restoring all the parts to original condition"? Because usually it is just the star mechanism that appears to be worn. And I'm glad to know that Punkin's/Pinto's wasn't as bad as Phoenix's.
Beyond any hope for intervention
