Shall I rebuild this carb or buy a new one? '67 Patrol

As you can see from the filter in the pic, the tank is FULL of crud and will need to be dealt with. I bypassed it altogether with my newly rebuilt fuel pump and I've got gas coming out all over on this carb, and still the plugs are dry. So, buy or rebuild? TIA all!

For roughly the same amount of money I found this carb on Amazon and it looks like the NAPA ND1495 that L60Beorne speaks of as being an improvement upon the Rochester that I am dealing with?

Beorne, I couldn't find the follow up posts on the carb mentioned above to see if you are still happy with the swap. Eddie the Eagle remedied a spring issue is as far as I could find. Is this carb the solution? If I'm going to spend the $$, I may as well do it right and do it once.

I installed on mine years ago a Carter/Motorcraft YFA that came from an 80's Ford Bronco, 300 cid, straight 6,. It's been running for over 20 years. There are aftermarket makes of this carb, at $83:

For sure you'll have to do some minor adaptation of the air filter housing and the linkage.

David, I should have mention about it. I gutted the electric choque and installed a manual conversion that they sell at the parts store.

Will take a picture tomorrow.

Yes, the NAPA carb remains excellent. We will hill climb with it again on the 06 at the end of the month. Eddie the Eagle used/modified a spring from an ATV as it arrives with a missing spring but once that was fixed it is excellent. Buy it! Eddie can help you source a spring if needed.

Here are the pictures. In the first one you'll see how I rerouted the original choke cable to align it with the manual choque of the carburetor.

The following picture shows the manual choke conversion kit in place of the electric one, and how the cable attaches to it. I just took all the components for the electric choke out and installed the manual kit.

Got it, thanks for the assistance ALL. I appreciate everyone's input. My progress is slow as the yet-unnamed Patrol is at the barn on my farm and it's still winter up here. Need to get my oldest sons project off of my car lift and get busy on this! Carb is ordered.
