60Patrol

Hey, I have a 69' Nissan Patrol, I've done a spring over and a slight shackel lift.  I was wondering if any one has run into driveline problems with a simular project?  The joints won't make the tight angle, I can get one made but I was wondering if there's a cheaper alternative.  I appreciate all imput.   Perry

well, i have had this problem before or should i say nightmare. a patrol is not a good candidate for a spring over for a number of reasons you already know about 1. the other is the steering arm will have to be modified. re-welding of the perches etc. i had to use so many perch wedges the steering arms,drag link etc. were faced down so far it would have steered funny and wore out tires left and right. so after much thought and having a number of my mechanics that work for me look at it we decided to go back to orig. let me say i inhereted this problem from the former owner, i am not a big fan of spring overs and body lifts and suspension lifts. i am a hunter i go places that these jacked rigs can not or should not go. due to their height they can not side hill. i have 33" tires and have more that enough clearance to go where i want to. if you want to jack one up so you can walk underneath it to change the oil, and look like one of these flat landers here in calif. that never leave the pavement you need either a jeep or cruiser these parts and processes are readly available. i don't want to sound harsh but i spent days on my back trying to undo what the previous owner goofed up, and i am sure it can be done, but not cheaply and easily. you can sent the front end and rear end in and have the axel tubes rotated so that the angle of the pumpkin stays the same and your steering arms etc. stay the same you need to get the angles just right and it ain't cheap. sorry to be the barrer of bad news but brother i have been there. mark.

WELL HERE IS WHERE I STAND WITH SECOND BUILT PATROL....SPRUNG OVER ON DANA 44S OUT OF A WAGONEER....FRONT AND REAR...THE STEERING ...USED A FORD STEERING BOX...THAT WORKS BEAUTIFUL...STEERING IS ALL DONE WITH HEMI JOINTS...IT SITS ON 37 INCH TIRES AND FLEXS LIKE A MONSTER...WILL SIDE HILL ANY STOCK OR NEARLY JEEP CAN THINK ABOUT...THE ROOF IS AT 7'8"...STILL VERY STABLE ON THE ROAD AND WILL OUT WORK MOST NEWER JEEPS...HAVE PICS ON REQUEST...PLEASE EMAIL ME FOR THEM AT...NORCALIGUY25@AOL.COM.....PLUS ANYONE NEED ANYONE "COMMON PARTS LETS ME KNOW...THANKS....
