57-year-old gun range Workhorse.

I work on a gun range and I've been driving this Patrol daily for the last couple weeks. It's 135mile round trip and this thing has performed amazing. The temperatures have been between 100 and 110 this week and the old Patrol has not skipped a beat. I'm driving between 55 and 65 mph and averaging right about 12 miles per gallon. I had a vapor lock issue starting to develop but I spent a little time a couple days ago rerouting the fuel line and since then it shows no signs of any hiccups. I'm really impressed with the road manners. I've owned a lot of old 4x4s. Everything from Jeeps, land rovers, land cruisers, and international Scouts and nothing else did as well as this is doing. I've got it outfitted now with a vintage military cooler and five mounted some magnetic mounts I'm using to hold my rifle and the grab handle on the passenger side works great for hanging my gun belt and my ear protection. I've got to make the 2,000 mile journey to Mississippi to our range we have located there and I'm almost tempted to try to make the drive with this thing. Anyway it's really great to see how a stock 1967 Nissan Patrol still holds up. The only real modifications I made I have been going to a dual Reservoir brake master cylinder and a pertronic ignition module. Other than that it's Stone stock and every gauge and every bulb works it's pretty phenomenal and a ton of fun to drive.
I have to agree. They handle well on the road and don't jostle your teeth out like other old 4x4s can. I put a few thousand miles on Patrols and always enjoyed it. They're suited to setting up in a way that is useful to the individual as you've done. Enjoy the ride!
