Re: engine rebuilding parts
Welcome to 60Patrol!
The stock engine in a '65 Patrol is a P engine. Not sure what a YD40 is. The P engine is nearly the same engine used in Komatsu forklifts, which is the PPU engine. The next generation was the P40 engine which had some slight variations. There is a thread discussing them here: viewtopic.php?p=35790&hilit=motorpower#p35790 . The company mentioned in the thread, MotorPower Inc, is no longer in business though. Some members have found engine parts in various places, even eBay has some. Search the forum for helpful tidbits.

Beyond any hope for intervention

Welcome to 60Patrol!
In addition to RiverPatrol comments, in Colombia and Australia you can find parts, if you have a connection there.
As a quick take, you can use most of the P40 engine parts, including gaskets for the ones that fit. For other gaskets, silicone is the way to solve.
The following parts are the same:
- Pistons and rings
- Connecting rod bearings
- Gaskets (all except the timing cover and water pump)
- Valves and guides
The following parts are different:
- Crankshaft bearings
A quick search for connecting rod bearings: 0.25mm undersize
https://trupar.com/p/tcm-forklift-rod-2 ... 2117-58010
https://intellaparts.com/p/Nis-12117-58 ... -25mm.html
Head Gasket
https://intellaparts.com/p/026-11044C06 ... asket.html
In the Patrolabilia section of the forum, you can find the Komatsu parts manual for the P40 engine (caution with the crankshaft bearings). You can get the parts numbers there for lookup at the forklift parts like the above.
