Electrical question......
Saw this electrical component with what looks like melted rubber coming out of the bottom. It's on the driver front driver side by the steering shaft. What is it and do I need to replace it???

Doesn't look like anything stock or original. Hard to say what it is.

By any chance, does yours have an aftermarket alternator? If so, that could be the voltage regulator.
