I got this gem from central west here in NSW Australia. Owner deceasd in 2012 has been sitting in his wifes yard since then. Got it home gave it a good clean as it hald half of central NSW dirt and mud everywhere. Body is straight no rust at all except for the general surface rust on the chassis and parts which cleaned up nicely. Got all the wiring sorted and started 2nd go since 2013. Am loving getting it back on the road as it brings back memories whan i was a kid and dad had his when i was growing up.

They are 285/75/16 (approx 33 Inch). I went the bigger size to compensate for the final gear drive of the 3 speed. Also if you have the larger tyres you wont be able to fit them on the wheel carrier as you cannot open the bottom latch. So what i did was find a donor wheel carrier and extend the wheel mount and added a 25mm wheel spacer to move it away from the carrier frame

The finished product. Drives like it was brand new. It helps when you put soundening sheets it (much quieter then the high pitch whine when traveling at speed). Sits on 100Km/h without raising a sweat. Temp sits constaintly between 80-90 deg celsius. Have given it a good run up some very steep winding roads here in Australia and i cant get it to go over 90. Mind you the electric thermo fan is worth its weight in gold
Next will be the front discs and Roll Bar

You added running boards as well. Looks great! Those tall tires make a huge difference in highway speeds.
