60Patrol

Hello.

I am considering shipping my 1964 Nissan Patrol to the United States in order to find the right buyer. You are true enthusiasts and experts, and most importantly, you live in the U.S. and understand the local market very well.

One of the reasons for this decision is that I also own another similar classic vehicle, a 1962 Austin Gipsy, both in excellent condition. Unfortunately, I do not have enough time to properly enjoy and maintain both vehicles, so I am evaluating the possibility of selling the Patrol.

My brother lives in Washington, D.C., so the initial plan would be to ship the vehicle to the Port of Maryland. Registration in the U.S. is an option, although it could also be left to the future buyer. These are some of the points I am currently reviewing:

The only mechanical component I have never disassembled is the master cylinder. It is currently working well, but I am in the process of installing a brand-new unit to minimize any risk of future failure.

The estimated cost for shipping from Colombia to the U.S. is approximately USD 5,000, I need to confirm it

My brother will start requesting quotations related to auction fees and also review storage options until the sale is completed.

Finally, I am working on establishing a realistic estimated sale price and would truly appreciate any insight or feedback from this community.

Most US buyers will use Bring A Trailer https://bringatrailer.com/nissan/patrol/ to determine worth. Do you believe that your Patrol is withing the selling price of recently sold Patrols?

Considering the 100% original condition of the vehicle and the high-quality restoration level, along with the fact that the car has been properly tested and driven, I believe it should attract a higher offer.

This is a well-known (let’s say, “famous”) vehicle within its circle, and I believe its history in Colombia could be an added value for the right buyer—especially someone who truly appreciates originality, provenance, and character..

I've known of that Patrol for many years, it is indeed a beautiful Patrol.

Some things you should also look into when bringing it to the US is import vehicle requirements. Enable for anyone to get it registered in a particular state there are import requirements/documents that are necessary. Some states are easier than others to register them in. I think Florida is one, perhaps Vermont. The import requirements must be proper or some buyers would not be able to register the vehicle in their state, which would eliminate potential buyers from entire states. I know California is very strict with that.

It's hard to put a price on it. What it's worth and what you can get are two different things. I think sellers have done well in some private auctions or other venues. I personally wouldn't recommend Bring A Trailer, the clientele there have been soured on imported Patrols because they have a bad reputation for being poorly restored.
