60Patrol

Hello All

In October 2020 with the help of a mate i picked up this tub ute. Due to other commitments the ute has sat in the shed waiting its turn for a birthday. today i finally cleaned a spot in the shed and started the process of pulling her down for a full rebuild.
It will be a long term project as life if busy but it was nice to spend a few hours on it today

Looking forward to updates on this project! I love these Patrol 'utes', too bad Nissan chose not to import these to the USA.

Next to the soft top the tub utensils is my favorite Patrol. Please keep us posted on the progress!

Bit more progress today.
Lifted the tub off to allow me to start cleaning up the chassis. Once the cabin is removed i can get it blasted and cleaned up

Everything to date is looking like its in good condition

Big green equipment always helps with the heavy lifting!

while we never really know how many Km's (miles) are on these old Patrols i was interested to know if the pedal rubbers look original. What do you guys think, are these factory looking rubbers?
They have very little wear and with the speedo reading around 33,000km i wondering how many times it may have gone around

Those do look like the original pedal rubbers. If it was used as a farm vehicle chances are the kms are low. I would guess that it's been around once simply because it been repainted twice.

Tear down still underway and we are at the point where we can lift the engine, gearbox out to allow works to start on the chassis. its been great to date working with my 8 year old on the project.
To keep the project interesting i have started mini projects to keep things moving forward. i have the starter motor stripped down and tonight i sandblasted and painted the unit. its now ready to reassemble.
I also had the young fella remove the cooling fan from the engine. i took this to the local paint shop and had the cream color matched so i can balst and paint this next time i have some shed time.
