How to remove Steering Wheel

I was all too excited when I read the posts about restoring the steering wheel. I even watched the video with the guy less attractive than the Patrol owner and with less hair.
I bought new dremel bits, non-compliant for Ca putty, gloss black paint, files and steel wool.

I got up early and ran to my Patrol. (Music was playing in the back ground, wind rushing through my hair, everything was moving in slow motion...)
When I reached my vehicle I could smell fresh lilac in the air. It was a beautiful day...
The center cap off easily. The nut was already loose. Everything was going so well until the *!##@!*&'n thing wouldn't come off!
Damn piece of *&%$!!
I tried hammering, kicking, pulling, spit, WD 40, prayer, C-4, Native Indian dancing, checking my radiator fluid level, prank phone calls to India, changing my laundry detergent, better diet, yoga and re-positioning my furniture but NOTHING seemed to get that sucker off!
I was able to get it to move about an 1/8th of an inch but after 7.40 hours, I had to quit.

It doesn't look like there are any holes to get a puller inside. What do I do? I refuse to go Christmas caroling naked in the snow. please, send help!

On a good note, I was able to make my center cap shine! That thing was ugly before. (You'll have to take my word for it...)

C'mon, even a girl can do it! You're right, there isn't any way to get a steering puller on it. You must improvise, not go Christmas caroling naked. The best improvisation I have found was a shackle form a shackle lift kit. An FJ40 lifted shackle will work, maybe even a stock one. The shackle is shaped like a capital 'H'. I run a big bolt through one end and nut it. Then I put the shackle behind the steering wheel and over the steering column. Then I put another big bolt through the other end. Here is where you need to hold your mouth just right, unless you've got an extra set of hands: bring the bolted shackle up behind the steering wheel, and now you can hook your puller to the shackle. Get your socket on that puller and turn it until the steering wheel comes loose. You might want to put a rag or something between the shackle and the steering wheel so the wheel doesn't get scratched up.

Viola!

It was raining during the short time I had available so I had to put it off for a bit. I was able to use my old door panels as templates to make new ones (in the garage) and will post tomorrow when I hook up my camera.

Just to follow up, that sucker never came off! I used a puller but it disnt work. someone used epoxy or ? to bond it to the shaft! Very nice of them.
( I used lemons to make lemonade)
Im redoing it where she sits.
I will be done on Sunday and will post pics on Mon!
