Del's and Elle's 67 hard top

Post by delbert »

We started the tear down this week and have an evening into dismantling our patrol. We got the interior out and have 2 stubborn bolts left for the bed. Hope to move to the hood and fenders this weekend. Also looked at mechanics so we can start ordering/tracking down parts. Listed below is the start of our needs list.

- wheel bearings
- oil pan gasket
- water pump gasket
- fan belt
- most of the rubber window and door seals

Will post more pictures soon.

I'm curious about the wheel bearings? Front wheel bearings or rear axle bearings? I have never seen front wheel bearings go bad yet.
Beyond any hope for intervention

River, I will double check the bearings. I had jacked everything up and spun the wheels. 2 of them had a whiring noise. May just need a good lube. Definitely looks like it could, use a good overall service.

Pictures of our progress. The 67 is fully dismantled and ready for a good pressure wash. Lots of dirt underneath. Managed to bloody up some knuckles on some of the more stubborn bolts. There had to be an easier way to get the fenders off.

Looks like you've been working hard. I'm looking forward to seeing the progress.

That's some fast progress! That was just the easy part though. ;)

Project came to a screeching halt. Between work, holidays, more work and cold weather it is at a stand still. Hoping to get back at it again but will likely be spring before we see progress.
