Just bought a new 1965 Patrol. New to the Patrol world but no the Nissan world. Looking forward to the research and figure out what to do next. Suggestions welcome.
Couple pics of my 2004 Nissan Xterra. SAS with a HP Dana 44, 3 link suspension, ARB lockers, all built by me.
You're new Patrol is in really nice condition. From the door handles and the wheels, it actually looks like it's probably a '66. Those are the original 15" split rim wheels. Still has the original outside mirror - that's rare. The body looks straight and pretty rust free, lots of potential there. Looks like it might be original paint. You could probably buff it out and it would take a shine. What are your plans for it?
Very nice, original looking rig... Looks like it will be a fun project!
Is it missing the glass on the right rear door top? Let me know if you need that piece- I think I have a spare

Not sure what the exact plan is but I'll know more as I tear into this thing.
It runs and drives but it was a scary 15 mile ride home. It's got a pretty bad oil leak, not sure I can live with a 3 speed transmission but the first thought for sure is to try to keep it looking like a Patrol.
Haha! Pretty brave to drive it home. I can imagine that it was an exciting drive. I guess the test drive must have been successful enough to give you the confidence. Whew!
inliner, I just found your pictures. I am the guy who sent your an inquiry on the split rims. Since that contact last night we have decided against the split rim, just too complicated for us. If the 65 Patrol is not working out for you, ie too much work, 3 speed limitations etc, please let me see if we can work something out on taking it as it. As I am learning these are niche rigs. Thanks,
