Positive or Negative grounding

Really old stuff that got saved. Here are the old Nissan Patrol Club America messages from the 'General' category. Warning, it's dusty in here!

Positive or Negative grounding

Post by npca-danetteandkeith »

A recent post titled "Patrol Radio"  made me wonder. The books that I have say the Patrol is Neg. grounding. In the post Drew says his Patrol  is Pos. ground. Somewhere in the back of my mind I seem to remember reading (in a post possibly) that the early year Patrols may have been Pos ground.  Mine is a "69". How  does Pos. ground work and what is the difference? Also how do you tell which is which? Anybody know the answers?      Keith

Positive or Negative grounding

Hi, It's really easy. Open yours car bonnet, then locate battery and just view, which contact is connected to the "body", + or - ? If -, then you have "normal" negative ground car. If +, then you have positive ground car.   Tommi Nissan Patrol 2.8 1982 with BEAR tyres ICQ 5045306
