Oilite Clutch Bushing/Pilot Bearing

Post by L60Boerne »

Good morning Patrollees Worldwide,

Though most all issues with our 63 & 65s Patrols have been dutifully solved by the Nissan Ninja's herein we have now found that we swinging a dull Katana. Our clutches are mechanical clutches...ie not hydraulic. We need a replacement Oilite Clutch Pilot Bushing 0.940" OD x 0.750" ID x 1" long.

Threads indicate at one time Universal Nissan in CA had them but I can't tell what that means...Universal City Nissan? Is there a parts store named Universal Nissan?

My stocking is hung so if anyone has any ideas Santa's sleigh needs locomotion to make its rounds. I'd like three but I'd be happy with a good salvaged one or two.

Merry Christmas to all,

The reference that I have in my notes is the following:

AA-921-4 | Oil Impregnated Bronze Sleeve | 3/4 ID x 15/16 OD x 1 OAL
Item #:101386
$3.51 ea.
https://www.bronzebushings.com/aa-921-4 ... od-x-1-oal

Member ctcruiser used them, and they correspond to the measurements you posted.

Esteban, I have received a PM from Mr. Cruiser. He did not recommend the bushing from Bronzebushing.com. The problem is that I'm not technical enough to follow what he is saying the solution is. He found one, that is the good news. I hope he calls me or posts something simple enough for me to follow.
Waiting with baited breath,

Just a note to say I did make contact with Universal City Nissan in Los Angeles. The parts department said the bushing was no longer available.

Can you confirm the measurements? Maybe you have an original at hand.

The bushings can be deformed when installing. This was probably the issue with member ctcruiser, and the reason he had to machine the bore afterwards.

I think it’s best if the bushing goes in without much effort and with a little bit of Loctite.

I'll dig one out. I have a stash of NOS bushings.

Thank you both for pitching in. It is very much appreciated. We have taken the information provided to PT & Esteban and ordered six Oilite bushings knowing they require machining. Eddy the Eagle will have them machined to the proper geometry. I asked him to make extra in case other people need them at some point.

I will report back in several weeks.

Merry Christmas to all and again please know how much I appreciate your support and guidance,

Are these the ones???

This ones says all model Patrols - no measurements

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Nissan-Patr ... 0720831886

or this one - no measurements

https://patrolapart.com.au/product/niss ... u-tb-td-zd

Interesting one says to soak in oil before fitting otherwise they will squeak.

Search ebay for 32202 Bearing.

Or searching ebay.com.au for OILITE BEARING turns up a perfect match

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Oilite-Bush ... 2648303189 I think it is in the USA
Not sure if I will get there.
Not sure if I will get back.
But I usually do!!!

Thank you Peter60. The part number is not matching our part number but I ordered one from the third source you listed because the geometry is correct. I didn't use the first two because Ebay couldn't place the order quickly because the seller's sights did not have a postage calculator built in to the order.

We should have it in several weeks.

I tip my big Texas Cowboy hat to you!
