my buddy is thinking about buying a 76 nissan patrol for $500 the body is completly trashed so will will be turning this truck into a dedicated wheeler. I need to know about the engine tranny transmission and axles parts availability / strength. He wont have alot of money when he first buys is so we were thinking a SOA and welding up the rear spider geears till he can save up for dana 44's do any of you guys wheel your patrols hard? how strong are these things? thanks alot for any help I really want to learn (im a fj40 guy)

I could be wrong about the year and after seeing all the trucks on this site Im pretty sure Im wrong it could be a 67? it looks kinda like a rover. Im in colorado
