Where did you get those rubber plugs for the Mag Switch on the starter??
Just got lucky and it was on a nice old starter. So it is a 50yr old piece of rubber in good condition. Have you tried looking at Metro Molded parts or Steel Rubber? Might be able to find something that works good there.
I edited my first post removing the part about chromed oil caps. I think in 69 they started coming in chrome, referencing 69+ brochures and pictures I have of 69 or later trucks it looks chromed. I have never owned a 69 myself and my 68 is my first Patrol past 1967. Up to 67 they were all painted engine color, unsure on 68's at the moment.
Cheers

Good lesson in re-plating here, thanks Ian
That black zinc is cool, never knew it existed

No worries!
I bet you have a version of black zinc on one of your newer Patrols. It is olive drab in color more that straight black. I got it on my 80 Cruiser, seat mount hardware, stuff like that.
I have found the plating to be very affordable, at least with the company I use. $500, maybe a bit more for doing everything on the whole truck. I have not found any of the platings to be overly expensive from another.
Doing the PTO winch drum on the 64 soft top in black zinc as well as the mounting bolts for the side steps.
Cheers
