REEEAALY nice Patrol Pancho and top work on the oil filter

I just checked the cost of the material and the manufacturing. Total cost for each flow converter is 228 dollars plus shipping.
Shipping to US using "Certified Post" is 40.5 dollars. Time required for manufacturing is about two weeks.

Too steep for me at this time. Count me out.

I guess my oil filter works good enough. That is a nice addition and I feel a bit embarrassed but it is not up my alley cost wise.

After 10 years with me and 50 years in the family, last week I sold my Patrol. So far it has being the best car i have had. Actually it never was my car but my favorite toy. I spent several weekends working on it but I have to admit that it was really interesting and got a lot of fun on it. However the project was finished, i clear all of my "to do" list and some how got bored because there was not much left. Then about a year ago and also because there was implemented a new tax for old vehicles having large engines in my country, I decided to sell it hoping someone else will take good care of it. I thought it was going to be very fast to sell it and thought also, I will receive several proposals but I was totally wrong. Anyway a week ago a young man who is in the car maintenance business finally bought the Patrol. His intention is to offer it to his wife as a daily car. I did warn him that this truck is not precisely for a woman because it doesn't has power steering among other things but he insisted that she will drive it without problems. My feeling is that it is a gift for himself.
This Patrol not only gave me some great time but also allow me to meet very good friends like Esteban and his brothers from whom I receive several advices on how to repair the car. Not mention that i had learn a lot from you guys in this forum. Thanks a lot!

Thanks for those kind words Pancho. Because of the Patrol we developed a solid friendship. Selling it won't change that a bit, even though you have become a Toyota convert.

Some of the members here have been in similar shoes like you and will understand totally the move you're making in selling your Patrol.

Your quote reminded me of a program that I like to watch, "Chasing Classic Cars", where the guy always says "it's all about the chase". In your case, you've cleared your "to do list" with the Patrol, and now it's time for somebody else to start a new venture with your vehicle. It's always going to remain "your Patrol", no matter how you hard you try to trick your brain into not thinking about it. Some people just don't understand this, and many think it's wrong to be sentimental about a mechanical device. Rest assured that you're in good company here at 60Patrol. They all know how difficult a decision this might have been.

I personally have benefited with you knowledge and passion for this vehicle. The oil adapter for spin on oil filters that you developed, is just wonderful. It's a solid design with great engineering tinkering going into it. I will never go back to the old type filter. Will be a constant reminder of our friendship.

Pancho- I love your Patrol- I love the color, the styling, and all the effort you put into it.

I agree with Esteban- It may belong to someone else now, but it will always be "yours".

We hope you will check in on 60Patrol forum from time to time - Some day you might get "the bug" again and want to build another Patrol...
