Well today was engine painting day. I had already degreased and presure washed it. Next step was to hit it with the metal prep from POR-15.
Next, one coat of POR-15 gloss black.
Finally, two coats of chevy blue.
I plan to drop the oil pan and pull the valve cover off to paint those. I have a few more pieces to paint, water pump and some odds and ends, then reassembly soon.

After a couple more weekends of work, the under hood makeover is finally complete, and Ducky has seen pavement again.
Aside from the cosmetic paint, there's a new fuel pump, reconditioned starter, new distributor, pertronix ignition and flamethrower coil, hot-tanked radiator, new belt, heater hoses, fuel lines vacuum lines, new gaskets etc. Many hours at the blast cabinet and applying POR-15 to almost everything (except the radiator).
The most bang for the buck, really was the pertronix ignition upgrade. This engine ran well before the upgrade, but it seems flawless now.
Next order of business is a set of new tires and fabricating the the mounts for the tow bar.

I can see that you have the more modern distributor. Did you buy it recently or was already in the vehicle when you purchase it?
I also noted that you have the brake master cylinder of an american car, with an extension structure to mount it. Great. It will be easier when the time comes to put a booster in there.
You once mentioned that you have an overdrive in this Patrol. Pictures please!

Yes I am curious about the ignition too. I want to get rid of the points in mine.
