In the Thicket, Bosque

"I don't want you're damn project, I want to get paid!" That was my reply to a client who owed me money for interior wood work and asked if I would be interested in a Nissan Patrol in lieu of some of his bill. Pause............(see Elmer Fudd) steam about to shoot out my ears....pause......stop sign! It turns out he could not pay do to legitimate and very terrible sickness and wouldn't tell me. Too proud and too tough, from a different mindset. I felt like a heel. 
In my small town you eventually know the truth about everything and luckily I was made aware of this before being too callus. These real life things do happen unfortunately but weird how so much good has come out of being "stuck" with a Nissan Patrol. I have three now. 
I have a 62 softy, 65 hard top, and my first and runner 67 hard top. I'm a total copycat with conviction that I did everything first so just remember that I was the first to tell you. I love to tinker and have been a furniture maker and finish carpenter thus far. I love old cars and stuff and this seems to be my first venture into mechanics.
I live in the Eastern Sierra California next to the Nevada border. Big jagged mountains, like Mt. Witney 14,000 ft+, so being a climber since '84 and now equally loving back country skiing goes hand in hand. My wife and I have 2- Vizsla fur children and one cat that thinks its a Vizsla. My main gig has been woodworking http://www.bosquewoodworks.com, but been doing some furnishing and functional art pieces lately too. Pretty fun stuff that really was part due to the Patrol....taking a welding class for that, buying a media blaster and then getting some nice ideas for mostly home furnishings and gifts utilizing mixed materials. http://www.etsy.com/shop/BosqueFunction ... p_redirect
