Marks 5 speed and 250 crossflow conversion Vic

Post by Gnu »

Hi guys I've decided to sell marks 5 speed/falcon engine and associated parts - tail shafts/ transfer case/ radiator ect out of my spare parts car to fund further work on my restoration protect. It's kind of hard to put a price on as a full kit so I'll leave it open to offers otherwise it's going on e-bay. At the moment it's all still in the car so if anybody wants test it out and hear the engine they're welcome but the sale will include me removing the lot ready to pick-up. I can help with shipping to a certain extent - just ask the question.

What I know about it:

The box fellt nice and tight with good synchros driving it around my yard a bit (was only low speed tho)

The engine is an earlier 4.1 falcon engine with the cast iron head, runs surprisingly well once warm because the choke doesn't work (carby needs work) even on the old stale fuel that's in it! Other than that I don't know a lot about it I have a conpression tester so if I get time on the weekend I'll give her a hit and post up the results.

Apparantly from what I'm told this box will bolt up to a P engine if the Marks bell housing is removed and the g60 bell housing fitted, but that would require some cluch changes..?? Maybe some one could shed some light??

I'll get some pics up over the weekend, also forgot to mention a might separate parts pending on interest.

Cheers

Marks 5 speed will yes bolt up to all P engines, you most likley woudl need a new clutch, but a new owner would use the pressure plate from his/her g60 gearbox, you woudl place a new clutch plate in as common practice anyway.

I'll give you $200 for the lot ;)
