I drove Eleanor today!
Yep. as in Gone in 60 seconds. Pics? Mañana. I am on an iPad and lost.
My old climbing buddy has a very awesome and generous friend in SLC, Utah who was so magnanimous to take us out for some rip roaring fun driving a pumped up Viper, a 800 hp Magnum wagon, a Shelby GT500, a '73 (?) Challenger, A really nice Corvette, .....and on but the most awesome thing happened later that eve...He showed up at my friends house with Eleanor! yeah....The Eleanor. We'd seen her earlier before we took out the others in his BatCave storage facility and he even let me start it up....pure rad! I was also visiting a cuz and we were admiring his 72 (?) 911T long nose when my buds wifey text us that Eleanor was at there house and come over. My cousin and I bee lined over and drove her around SLC a bit. I honestly had a chance of a lifetime today to drive the others but then to drive Eleanor too......My palms are still sweating! I have tons of photos from other folks and some video too but must have my cuz show me how to manage this iPad.
The Viper was an angry savage, the Magnum wagon was very nice and of course insanely fast sleeper....I think it had a viper engine in it but will ask later, the classic Challenger was badass enough with a 440 +++, but that Nissan GTR was....was....was....is my favorite new car to dream about! Holy Crap that thing is so impressive....the fastest production car on the market I think. I know it just starts waking up around 6000 rpm, 100mph feels like 40 mph in a Patrol, kinda chuckles at 130 mph. the dash gauges alone are incredible. We drove up to a ski area for some room and perfect roads and had a great day...and evening with Eleanor!

I...am...so...jealous...right...now...
but seriously, really nice to hear of someone who covets their toys for the right reasons - would be a shame if all those horses never got out for a gallop !
cheers,
D

Take out Eleanor, and I'll take the old Challenger. Sweet collection of vehicles.

Re: I drove Eleanor today!
The Nissan was the nicest car overall and the one I drove first. Driving it well over a speed that would make you ask...."Really? .....was great but ironically made the Challenger feel like a challenge to drive! The owner has mentioned sending more pics along...can't wait. ...and the vid is still in limbo.
Still smiles for miles here!
