Just bought my second Patrol and lovin it

Post by dbking82 »

Hi, I would like to introduce myself by asking a question about my rig as apparently the guru's hang out on this site.

I know this may seem like a really dumb question, but the simple questions get the honest answer. I purchased a G60 1967 P40 Patrol threw a family friend. The question I have is how do I tell what model I have?
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to 60Patrol! :text-welcomeconfetti: You've come to the right place for your G60 questions. :D

That is a very good looking ute, even with the layer of dust on it. You don't find many G60s from the 60s in Australia, let alone Utes in that condition.

To find the model, there might be an ID or compliance tag somewhere under the hood. Possibly on the firewall, or on the radiator support. The model might be on that. I'm not sure if the plate is there on the early Patrols. Otherwise, you can look at the introduction of this parts book, page 21: http://www.60patrol.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=1758 It says your model is a 94Z-G60HA.

Nice find. Please keep us posted on your progress with it.

Admin: please rotate the photos, I'm getting a headache just looking at them.

:confusion-shrug: I dunno Keith, they look fine from my iPad? I've seen that happen before though, looks ok on some and not others. I'll see what I can do.

EDIT: Ok, I see the headache version on the laptop. I think I've fixed it. :handgestures-thumbup:

Thanks guys/gals been more than busy of late. One of the Patrols is in storage, 500km away and the other is yet to be picked up from the seller, so info is restricted. I will find out some serial played in the next few weeks so I hope I can fill everyone in on what I have as well as myself. Also I will have a few more pics for the eagerly waiting 60 fans.

Awesome ute mate! Not many pre 1970 utes around. Make sure you take plenty more photos when you pick it up.

Are you assuming its a P40 or has it had an engine swap? All G60's came with the "P" engine not the "P40" which appeared in the G61's and MQ/MK's. Sorry to be the P40 Police ;) :law-policered:

Welcome to 60 Patrol. Looks like it's been sitting along time? Get her cleaned up and out in the sun and take some more pics.
