You should download one of the Service Manuals from the Patrolabilia section. The manuals have a detailed procedure for the dismantling:

1978 Service Manual

That, along with an exploded view from one of the parts manuals should suffice. The 1978 Manual has some minor differences with your 67 model, but it will be only on how the levers connect. Everything else, if memory doesn't fail me, is the same.

The transfer case is, for the most part, a straight forward dismantle. You'll need to have the transmission/transfer case combo out.
