Steering Damper

Post by Peter60 »

I put a new steering damper on my Patrol the other day.

I was amazed at the improvement in steering. Before I need to continually make slight adjustment to keep the Patrol going where it should be going. Now with the damper I no longer needs to make these adjustments :D

When out 4WDriving, the wheel no longer shakes and rattles like it did.

Its $40AUD well spent :D

My damper is not 'self centering'. This what I installed.

Glad you felt all that difference. Thanks for posting this.

From an initial search, it's not available here in the USA. But I recall some member years ago installing another KYB damper

Sounds like a good choice. How's cornering response?

I didn't notice any difference in cornering response. I'm not sure if that the dampers job.
