Re: Finally getting my Dad's 1969 Patrol shipped
Well it has been a couple of years and I am ready to get this project going. I shattered my ankle and had to go through several surgeries and not able to really walk for a couple of years. There was an update to the engine that I had asked about previously. I sprayed seafoam deep creep in there and ...

Re: Finally getting my Dad's 1969 Patrol shipped

Re: Finally getting my Dad's 1969 Patrol shipped
Been a while, been busy. I wanted to check to see if the engine was seized but before using the crank I decided to pull the spark plugs and see how the cylinders looked. The are very rusty inside, so much that I wanted to ask in here (since the engine is so old and parts are hard to find) do you guy...

Re: Finally getting my Dad's 1969 Patrol shipped
So I got it off the transport truck this morning, and there is a lot more rust on it than those pictures showed. Hopefully it is all just surface rust. I popped the hood and evidently my older brother tried to "Fix" it when he was in high school and he took some of the engine apart and pie...

Re: Finally getting my Dad's 1969 Patrol shipped
Someone offered my dad $1,000 for it and he was going to accept the offer. I'm glad he told me about it before he did it so I could take it off his hands instead. My goal is to have it running before my dad passes away.

Re: Finally getting my Dad's 1969 Patrol shipped
The tags say 1972, so I assume that was the last time that it ran, it has been garaged since then when my dad tried to repair the transmission and a few other things. It does have some rust damage on the back door, hopefully that will be easy enough to fix, never done it before.

Re: Vehicle transport Shipping
Thanks for the info, I have contacted a few transporters that don't use the contractors and they are quoting me about double what the ones that use the contractors charge. With calculating fuel, DEF, hotels, food, and uhaul trailer rental, I'm looking at about $1900 if I do it myself. One of the non...

Vehicle transport Shipping
I did a search and didn't see anything that popped out at me, so I am sorry if it has been asked before. I am leaning towards getting a patrol shipped via transport rather than me driving across the country to pick it up. I was wondering if anyone has any reliable companies that they have used befor...

Re: New to restoration
So my acquiring the Patrol from my parents hit a hard stop for the time being. Driving through Arkansas around midnight a deer decided to play frogger on the interstate and my truck struck it. Hopefully after I get the truck fixed I can try to get it again.
